Many of us often feel the day stretching thin, and we end up scurrying through the 24 hours that we have. On one hand, we have the rising pile of work and client meetings to attend to, and on the other, we have to reach school and take the kids to their dance recital. So overwhelming things can get, that you just wish you could just sit back and unwind for once- watch the world go by for a change.

Now imagine, the time you need to squeeze out if you wished to eat healthily? The sole reason that the fast foods business has gotten as lucrative, is because of the ease. All you need to do is tap a few times on your phone, and you have a parcel of your favorite cheeseburger and French fries on your dining table. It is easy, it is fast and it is cheap! if you are completely fagged out after the day’s work then entering the kitchen is the last thing that must be on your mind.

Your health however doesn’t take a back seat just because you don’t ‘have time’. Tell that to the doctor when they hand over a bill, 10 years down the line.

If you are ready to take on the journey of healthy eating, then you are already ahead of the pack. But most of the people who end up starting vegan and clean eating, have their hopes inevitably dashed. Before you know it, they have a cola in their hand and all goes down the drain from there.

How do you prevent failure when you are on a vegan diet?

One of the best fail-safe ways to make sure that you stick to the healthy eating way is to plan the foods and prepare them in advance. The preparation stage requires planning on your part, but it is an investment that will pay rich returns over the years. So, stay invested in it!

Let us take a look at some of the ways in which you can prepare for success in your vegan meal prep endeavors:

Plan In Advanced

It is a fact that planning is the first step to success. After all, failing to plan is planning to fail. The same stands true for vegan based eating as well. Rather than mad dashing through the grocery store, only to return home and find your bag missing of the lentils is a failure, of sorts. The best way to get around the issue is by sitting down and deciding on what it is that you want to cook for the week. Take the time to plan out the individual meals- Down to the tee!

Figure out the breakfasts, the lunches and the dinners. Also, make amends for healthy snacks that you might want to keep your mouth moving in the times between complete meals.

Once you know the recipes that you will be making, then you would want to jot down the ingredients. You can go through your pantry, and your fridge to take stock of the ingredients that you have, and what you would need. Don’t end up buying plenty and stuffing your fridge- buy on a weekly basis, so that you have fresh produce every week.

Do Your Shopping On A Weekly Basis

Doing this will ensure that you cut down on the food wastage. The last thing you want is to find a week old stock that you could have used but couldn’t. Plus, having fresh stock is a must to ensure that the flavor of the ingredients doesn’t diminish. That way your dishes will be healthier and tastier- it is a win-win situation. Fix a certain day of the week, just for shopping and stocking up your pantry.

Batch Cook

The easiest way to stay on point with your vegan eating goals is to batch cook. You can cook your favorite foods in advance and menial tasks like peeling and cutting can be done beforehand. Here are some of the ways in which you can batch cook:

  • Cut up and store fruits. You can wash them up, cut them in bite-sized amounts and store them in the fridge. This is a healthy alternative when you feel like snacking, without compromising on your health.
  • You can turn your veggies and fruits into smoothies if you feel too lazy to chew your food. The banana smoothie can be used even as an alternative to ice creams.
  • Slice veggies such as carrots, bell peppers, scallions, cucumber and celery, which you can add in as topping to your salads. Having plenty of salad recipes can make your vegan eating so much easier!
  • Make a pot of soup that you can heat up and combine with your meal. It is a great way to go about, especially when you are feeling just too lazy to begin cooking!

Stick to these and you are sure to continue your vegan eating, hassle-free!
